Helen Shewolfe Tseng is an artist, designer, and witch living and working in an expanding universe.
I have 10+ years of experience in design, illustration, and art direction, working across brand, print, and digital, with clients and collaborations in the arts, technology, media and publishing, academia, retail, and more.
My art practice centers inquiry, obsession, and non-linear experience, often in conversation with the ancestral, diasporic, ecological, interspecies, speculative, and cosmic. I also make zines, read and teach tarot, observe urban coyotes, and experiment with creative code.
I was a 2018–2019 YBCA Fellow and the 2019 Design Fellow (formerly Designer in Residence) at Headlands Center for the Arts. I have also held design residencies at the Oxford Internet Institute and Fordham University’s Urban Law Center. From 2014 to 2020, I co-hosted Astral Projection Radio Hour on BFF.fm. My first book, The Astrological Grimoire, was published by Chronicle Books in April 2019.
